VISITATION POLICY
Fort Loudoun Medical Center Medical Center’s primary concern is for the welfare and speedy recovery of our patients. We ask that guests respect the scheduled times set for visitation.
General Visiting Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Some patients and special care areas, however, have restricted visiting hours. We thank you for your cooperation in observing this schedule and any other visiting restrictions posted in the interest of individual patients.
Critical Care Visiting Hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., then again from 8:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. Patients in the critical care areas are very ill. They have an increased need for rest so they can heal and recuperate, so we have special guidelines for visitation to these areas. Thirty minutes is allowed for visitation. No children under the age of 14. No more than TWO visitors per patient at one time. Always wash your hands before and after entering a patient room.
VOLUNTEER VISITS
Our volunteers are happy to visit patients upon request - checking on them periodically, seeing if they need anything, and just lending a helping hand and friendly ear. Patients can tell Admissions or their floor nurse if they would like to take advantage of this opportunity.
CAFETERIA
The Cafeteria at Fort Loudoun Medical Center offers a daily variety of hot and cold menu items, located in between the Gift Shop and the Professional Building, and is Monday through Friday 7 a.m.– 9 a.m. and again from 11:00 a.m.– 1:30 p.m. To hear daily cafeteria menu items, call our menu line at extension 72201. Vending Machines are located in the vending area outside the Cafeteria or in the Emergency Waiting Area.
Guest Trays for visitors may be purchased by calling 56300 between 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Selections are the same as general unit patients receive, and the trays are delivered to the room at the patient’s mealtime.
CHILDREN'S PLAYROOM
Bright and cheery, the playroom on the main floor of the hospital is for well children who want to have fun while they visit. The colorful space features toys and aquatic décor. A whole wall picturing an octopus, lobster, turtle and other ocean creatures entertains young guests. Furnishings provided by the Lenoir City/Tellico Rotary Club.
GIFT SHOP
Located on the first floor of the hospital, the gift shop offers a wide selection of personal hygiene items, magazines, greeting cards, flowers, candy, and a variety of gift items. All profits go toward hospital purchases such as wheelchairs and benches for the outdoor patio. Gift Shop hours are Monday through Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
